Center for Mass Communications

The Centre for Mass Communications is a division of the Agency for Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The Center was established in 2004 under the Uzbek Agency of Communications and Informatization.

In accordance with the Presidential Decree of February 02, 2019, No. 4151 "On additional measures for further development of the information sphere and mass communications", the Center for Mass Communications of the Agency for Information and Mass Communications under the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan was established on the basis of the Center for Monitoring in the Sphere of Mass Communications of the Uzbek Agency for Press and Information.

The same legal instrument defines the main tasks of the Centre, such as:

Analysis of the status and level of transparency of the activities of State bodies and other organizations;

Monitoring of the national information space and the effectiveness of measures to support the development of the media, the press and the publishing, printing and information and library activities;

Systematic analysis of the compliance of the content of materials disseminated in the media with legal requirements, including those aimed at protecting the interests of individuals, society and the State;

Identification of problems and obstacles in the field of mass media, press, publishing and printing and information and library activities;

Consolidation and issuance of recommendations on the results of analysis and monitoring.
